Manufacturing Operations Production Supervisor

Would you like to play a key role in one of the Worlds Largest Defence Programmes? We currently have a vacancy for a Manufacturing Operations Production Supervisor at our site in Samlesbury.

As a Manufacturing Operations Production Supervisor, you will be participating in the F-35 Lighting, as well as Eurofighter Typhoon and world-famous Hawk trainer Aircraft. You will be responsible for organising, executing and controlling specialist activities and resources to support safe operational delivery. You will be managing your team to achieve time, cost and delivery performance in line with company targets and to drive continuous improvements.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to work in a world class Manufacturing facility at the cutting edge of Aerospace Design. Your main responsibilities as a Manufacturing Operations Production Supervisor

will involve:

Management of all activities within the area of responsibility including allocated resource to discharge the agreed production schedule

Liaising and coordinating with support functions (i.e. Manufacturing Engineering/Logistics) to progress issues concerning production planning and resource/skill allocation, to ensure delivery of products to schedule within a set cost budget at the required quality specification

Responsibility for the constant assessment and elimination of waste within every product, process and system throughout the business

Adhering and complying with the three key principles of the manufacturing system and associated standards (For example; applying workplace organisation, internal customer satisfaction work balance)

Reporting and acting upon any production losses through the appropriate channels to successfully identify root cause, contain issues and progress appropriate corrective actions.

Ensuring all visual management and control within your respective area of ownership are kept up to date and topical in line with the Manufacturing System Standards

Leading and motivating the team to create a high performance culture

Being a catalyst for improvement suggestions and a driver of cost saving measures and efficiency improvements

Your skills and qualifications:
Essential:

Working experience within Manufacturing Operations or similar environment, utilising systems, tools and structure to influence objective outcomes around Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery and People

Established/in depth Operational experience (ideally within a Manufacturing environment).

Have general engineering understanding across, design, manufacturing and test processes and demonstrate the importance of a "safety first" culture

Demonstrate a good understanding of customer and their needs

Demonstrate that employee engagement is a fundamental foundation of the achievement of a total performance culture

Desirable:

Demonstrate the ability to manage local stakeholders (such as Engineering, Finance and Programme Management) as well as the broader operational leadership

Demonstrate the ability to consider complex management and engineering challenges and recommend solutions / options through effective stakeholder engagement that involves cross discipline peer group and the participation of the direct team

Demonstrate ability to manage conflict, negotiate trade-offs and deliver solutions that aim to build a collaborative approach

Demonstrate the ability to influence the adoption of best practice tools and techniques to ensure problems are resolved at root cause and systemic issues are prevented from reoccurring through clearly defined and communicated process change

Previous experience of delivery of complex and critical manufacturing operational outcomes that enable the wider manufacturing organisation and programme to deliver strong schedule and financial performance
