Electro-Magnetic Compatibility (EMC) Engineering Team Leader

Would you like to join one of BAE Systems' fastest growing teams? We currently have a vacancy for an Electro-Magnetic Compatibility (EMC) Engineering Team Leader to join our site in Rochester.

As an EMC Engineering Team Leader, you will be report to the Test Centre Manager and will set up and perform EMC tests to military and civil test methods.

 

This role will provide you with fast career growth and the opportunity to be part of a fully equipped 'one stop' Qualification department with a diverse and extensive customer base.

 

Your main responsibilities as an EMC Engineering Team Leader will involve:

Leading a team of 10

Responsible for staff training and development

Leading and coordinating the EMC test facility improvements

Setting up and performing EMC tests to military and civil test methods

Keeping accurate test logs

Writing technical Test Reports

Writing Test Plans and Procedures to enable testing of customer specific equipment against specification requirements

Improving test methods and practices to reduce lifecycle times

Performing gap analysis of new specifications in order to have them incorporated into the UKAS Schedule

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential:

Knowledge of electrical, electronic and electromagnetic engineering

 

 

Previous hands on experience of performing EMC testing within a UKAS test lab

Competent in the application of the requirements of ISO17025 for UKAS accreditation


Desirable:

Ideally have experience managing a test facility

 

Experience in the set up and achieving of high field strengths for testing above 1000V/m


Understanding field propagation and measurement techniques

Ability to generate Measurement Of Uncertainty budgets
