Power Electronics Systems Design Authority
Would you like to work within an interesting role supporting the Maritime Sector at BAE Systems? We currently have a vacancy for a Power Electronics Systems Design Authority at our site in Broad Oak.
The System Design Authority will support multiple legacy Naval Power Systems products and will provide engineering support to manufacturing.
This role will encompass a wide variety of system technologies from legacy to modern day designs. You will have expanding responsibility in line with succession planning.
Your main responsibilities as a Power Electronics Systems Design Authority will involve:
Performing System Design Authority activities on naval power systems
Providing engineering support to test and production
Supporting PDS (Post Design Services) activities
Supporting test investigations
Defining test methods and equipment
Your skills and qualifications:
Essential
Diagnosis of electronic equipment
Experience in electronic design techniques (1970s to now)
Functional knowledge of high current applications, switching power supplies, analogue, digital and
Micro-processor technologies
A working knowledge of safe working practices particularly on deployed naval equipment.
An understanding of the appropriate choice of materials for target environments when resolving obsolescence issues
Desirable
Sonar systems experience/knowledge
Propulsion control systems experience/knowledge
Degaussing systems experience/knowledge
Generator voltage control experience/knowledge
Relevant degree
Chartered Engineer
