Assistant Project Manager - Engineering

BAE Systems Electronic Systems is responsible for hugely complex and innovative undertakings and we require an enthusiastic and talented Assistant Project Manager - Engineering to join us in a newly created role within our Project Management function.

As an Assistant Project Manager - Engineering, you will be involved in all aspects of project management. You will assist the Project Manager in the day-to-day management activities, to achieve the project's time, cost and quality objectives.

This role will provide you with amble opportunity to further your career within Project Management and Electronic Systems.

Your main responsibilities as an Assistant Project Manager - Engineering will involve:

Maintaining excellent customer relations

Managing team and personnel

Supporting the development and maintenance of a detailed project plan that embraces all elements of the project

Implementing and utilising Earned Value Management methodologies when appropriate

Taking ownership of specific Work Packages and project tasks

Supporting the project or bid team to ensure all milestones and objectives are achieved

Using project management techniques, to enable early identification of problems and implementation of mitigation actions

Achieving the agreed project cost, sales, margin and cash flow targets

Your skills and qualifications as an Assistant Project Manager - Engineering:

A proven track record in Project Management in an engineering development environment with awareness of Commercial and Financial skills

Proven ability to motivate, influence, and manage people effectively

Strong well-rounded business knowledge with focus on the customer

Team leading skills

You will have solid problem solving and analytical capabilities, with the Ability to motivate, influence, and manage people effectively. You will have developed interpersonal, organisational, facilitation, and communication skills.

Location: Rochester, Kent, UK

Salary: £35,000+
