Service & Calibration Engineer

 

Location: Reading / Basingstoke area

This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to and manage projects for the design, characterisation, procurement, installation, commissioning and in-service support of radiological instrumentation here at AWE.

You will support the development of less-experienced instrument designers and apprentices ensuring their safety and competence is upheld and have the opportunity to manage small radiological instrumentation projects by providing technical and financial input and contributing to design reviews.

It is expected that you will maintain current knowledge of all applicable procedures, legislation and safety measures as well as providing technical advice and guidance to customers and stakeholders daily.

 

To be considered for these roles, you must have an HND/Degree/Chartered or equivalent level of knowledge in engineering plus industrial experience.

 

You will also need:

· An understanding of Safe Systems of Work (SSoW) and the Health and Safety at Work Act (HASAWA)

· Demonstrable experience relating the maintenance of electrical, electronic instrumentation

· Strong communication skills with the ability to work with multiple technical and non-technical stakeholders

· An ability to design, build and test products which meet project deliverables

· An ability to draw schematics printed circuit board layouts

 

Candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role and be willing and able to work in designated areas.
