Business Development Manager - CAS (Controls and Avionics Solutions)

Would you like to lead activities to identify, qualify and develop new business opportunities for the CAS UK based product line, throughout the UK and the Rest of the World?

We currently have a vacancy for a Business Development Manager - CAS (Controls and Avionics Solutions) based at our site in Rochester, Kent.

As a Business Development Manager - CAS, you will see, understand and shape the market for CAS products and capabilities across existing and emerging market segments with particular focus on military air and commercial business jet, regional and air transport markets.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to lead the intelligence gathering activities on both customers and competitors to provide key inputs into product and campaign strategies - with a particular responsibility to lead the Win Strategy and Price To Win deliverables.

Your main responsibilities as a Business Development Manager - CAS will involve:

Qualification of new opportunities in accordance with PDR objectives - typically $100m pa

Provide Price To Win and Win Strategy deliverables for key campaigns.

Ensure BAE Systems Business Development and Business Winning processes are followed - with particular focus on the Pursuit of Export Opportunities policy.

Support the development of Regional strategies for key markets

Support the development of product strategies and technology roadmaps

Provides intelligence on budgets, programmes, new opportunities, customer/political thinking and competitor activity throughout the region

Lead strategic customer relationship management in target markets and regions

Support other Electronic Systems Business Areas and initiatives as required

Lead Business Development participation in Trade shows and evens to promote our products and engage customers

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential:

Proven capability within Business Development

Demonstrated knowledge of the Military and/or Commercial Aerospace markets.

Experience of a market facing role in electronic systems - preferably avionics / high integrity controls / actuation systems / utility or power systems - or similar

Proven ability to form strong relationships with customers and act as a trusted advisor

Desirable:

Experience of the International avionics campaigns

Experience of working within a complex organization and ability to engage at all levels of the organization
