Process Engineer

Would you like the opportunity to provide significant input into a niche environment/sector? We currently have a vacancy for a Process Engineer at our site in Glascoed.

As a Process Engineer, you will review, develop and improve manufacturing processes and facilities to meet project and production requirements. You will lead design of efficient manufacturing systems taking into consideration factors such as process safety, process flow, logistics, inventories and lead times.

This role will provide you with a unique opportunity to join a tight knit team who truly are on a journey to improve this niche business.

Please Note: This role is a one year fixed term contract.

Your main responsibilities as a Process Engineer will involve:

Developing and improving manufacturing processes, implementing industry standards and best practice to ensure long term process safety and process stability, including PFMEA (Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis), Process Control Plans and Process Flow

Leading and supporting activities such as process review, safe systems of work, and capability studies to demonstrate process and product safety

Supporting capital acquisition, capacity, capability planning and engineering proposals, estimating costs to implement product and process safety improvements, and to improve operational efficiency

Compiling, reviewing and continuously improving Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

Liaising with the Human Factors team to ensure that Safety Critical Tasks are identified through the Risk Assessment process, that subsequent controls are implemented and documented in the process SOPs

Planning and designing methods to improve efficiency and product quality by utilising CI tools and working as a member of a cross functional team

Your skills and qualifications as a Process Engineer:

Essential:

HNC or equivalent qualification or experience in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Electrical/Electronics/Chemical Engineering

Experience in carrying out process capability studies, managing Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) / Overall Labour Effectiveness (OLE) review

Experience in Risk Assessments preferably in a high hazard / process industry environment

Experience in a similar role, ideally gained in a complex manufacturing facility

Desirable:

IOSH / NEBOSH Certificate

You will be able to communicate well with stakeholders at all levels with the ability to influence to ensure safety standards are met.
