T45 EPG - Senior Mechanical Engineer

Would you like to a key role in the Engineering Project Group (EPG), delivering professional engineering services to Warship Support in the areas of Naval Marine Mechanical Equipment and Systems? We currently have a vacancy for a T45 EPG - Senior Mechanical Engineer at our site in Portsmouth Naval Base.

 

As a T45 EPG - Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be providing an integrated in-service engineering capabilities for both existing and new build platforms in order to enable provisions to both the royal navy and international navies alike, alongside Prime contractors and OEM's.

 

This role will provide you with the opportunity to put your technical skills into practise in order to carry out varied work across the engineering lifecycle, alongside your wide range of responsibilities.

 

Your main responsibilities as a T45 EPG - Senior Mechanical Engineer will involve:

 

 

Conducting technical investigations to understand problems, root cause analysis and proposal of design solutions

 

Integrating, commissioning, test, trial and acceptance of design solutions

 

Supporting the definition of designs to critical design review (CDR) maturity in line with all relevant governance processes and technical/safety/quality requirements

 

Propose design solutions to issues encountered during installation, commissioning, test and trials

 

Apply and manage requirements to drive the development of design solutions for marine mechanical equipment and systems

 

Assess and manage the integration of solutions with other engineering equipment/systems across the platform

Working to requirements of the BAE Engineering Lifecycle Governance processes

Leading and overseeing the physical installation and testing of multiple EPG design solutions on-site

 

Liaising with MOD establishments, test facilities, sub-contractors, suppliers and customers

 

Ensuring compliance with BAE Safety and Environmental Management Systems

Your skills and qualifications:

 

HNC/HND mechanical engineering qualification or equivalent experience

 

Holding a chartered or professionally registered (IEng) Engineering status/qualification, or working towards or willing to work towards

 

Extensive experience post qualification in roles involving installation support engineering, commissioning and test & trials of systems and equipment

 

Experience in writing technical reports, scopes of work, tests & trial reports and acceptance evidence packs

Knowledge and experience of conducting technical investigations and root cause analysis
