Aircraft Maintenance Standards & Safety Lead

Would you like to be involved in setting the strategic direction, defining standards and providing tactical advice to the organisation to ensure compliance with Regulations and ensure that such advice is embedded within the organisational contracts, policies and procedures? We currently have a vacancy for an Aircraft Maintenance Standards & Safety Lead at our site in Warton.

As an Aircraft Maintenance Standards & Safety (AM&S) Lead, you will be responsible for the consistent development and deployment of the AM&S Regulatory Governance Framework and will provide guidance and direction for the planning, implementation and operation of the organisation's Safety Management System (SMS).

This role will provide you with a unique opportunity to work across all platforms within our Air business and help influence and shape the Safety Management System within the maintenance environment, offering clear progression within safety or regulatory approvals.

Your main responsibilities as an Aircraft Maintenance Standards & Safety Lead will involve:

Defining the standards and providing tactical advice to the organisation to ensure compliance with Regulation and ensure that such advice is embedded within organisational contracts, policies and procedures

Managing the development and implementation of the AM&S Safety Management System to ensure all customer, legislative and regulatory safety requirements are identified and met

Advising the organisation of changes to legislation and regulation and ensure that changes are made to AM&S Functional policies and procedures as appropriate

Ensuring the accuracy and currency of Quality Management System (QMS) documents managed by the AM&S Function and report any documents that are overdue

Setting and reviewing the Safety Management System policy and developing supporting procedures, objectives and targets

Managing the development and implementation of a safety review structure across AM&S

Assuring effective safety risk management including a closed loop communication route of all safety risk information within and across organisations

Governing and measuring the effectiveness of the AM&S safety processes to enable continuous improvement

Your skills and qualifications as an Aircraft Maintenance Standards & Safety Lead:

Essential:

HNC/HND or equivalent qualification or experience in engineering or safety management discipline

Knowledge of the Military Aviation Authority (MAA) Regulatory Framework and the ability to apply that knowledge to generate Company standards and procedures

Experience managing a team in support of military aircraft in a Part M, Part 145/147 controlled environment

Understanding of Company and Customer processes and procedures including the Operational Framework, Export Control and ISO requirements

Detailed understanding of all continuing airworthiness regulatory codes, including their interaction and application

Desirable:

Experience of operating / maintaining fast jets

Experience of operating with the MOD Customer
