Would you like to work on one of the most modern warship programmes ever with an opportunity to work on a truly international project? We currently have a vacancy for an Electrical Engineer at our site in Scotstoun to work on a large scale project, delivering anti-submarine warfare frigates to the Royal Australian Navy - the largest surface ship project in Australia's defence history.

As an Electrical Engineer, you will work on a range of electrical/marine engineering activities in line with all relevant processes and quality requirements, supplying advice and support to designers, operations and other functions and ensuring defined objectives are achieved whilst continually maintaining quality and service requirements

This role will provide you with a great opportunity to develop your career, there's a clear succession plan and lots of experienced engineers to work with to help develop your existing knowledge.

Your main responsibilities as an Electrical Engineer will involve:

Developing electrical design specifications under guidance and carrying out electrical design activities. Examples of engineering output are electrical schematic diagrams, electrical design calculations, and electrical specifications

Participating fully in developing, maintaining and modifying engineering processes and procedures in electrical engineering areas

Preparing electrical technical equipment specifications; developing electrical designs in line with all specifications and standards

Liaising with customers and/or suppliers in assigned areas on engineering matters

Making electrical engineering decisions within own sphere of responsibility

Your skills and qualifications as an Electrical Engineer:

Essential:

Degree or equivalent qualification/experience in Electrical Engineering or related subject

Previous experience as an electrical engineer in a maritime, oil & gas or building /facilities environment

Experience of electrical systems design

Working knowledge of requirements development and design change

Experience of recognised analytical tools

Desirable:

Previous industrial placement experience whilst studying for degree

Maritime experience
