Would you like to support the operations team in the design, validation, qualification and manufacture of munition components? We currently have a vacancy for a Process Engineer at our site in Washington.
As a Process Engineer you be responsible for the delivery of engineering related projects to support future requirements and technologies, including the management and introduction of capital investments. You will support with business expectations in terms of SHE, Quality, Cost and Delivery targets ensuring they are achieved.
This role will provide you with the opportunity to develop your skills and work in a team where they are every developing and refining manufacturing processes.
Please Note: This role is a one year fixed term contract with a view to extend
Your main responsibilities as a Process Engineer will involve:
Introduction of new munition products and processes to the site's manufacturing portfolio, including their validation and qualification
Introduction of new or existing technology; including the management and introduction of capital investments.
Supporting engineering tasks when required, working at Washington and off site at other BAE sites and partner trial facilities, customers' and suppliers' establishments.
Day to day management of the process, sustaining, improving and developing it to achieve the business' manufacturing targets for safety, quality, cost and delivery.
Liaising with other functions, including Safety, Quality, Procurement and Engineering to successfully tackle production issues, following the relevant processes and processes, identifying suitable causes, remedial actions and corrective actions.
Manipulation and analysis of OEE and other forms of available data, to identify and deliver areas of continuous improvement
Decommissioning and removal of products and processes from the site's manufacturing portfolio
Your skills and qualifications:
Minimum HNC Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical or Chemical Engineering
Experience in carrying out process capability studies, managing Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) / Overall Labour Effectiveness (OLE) review, Risk Assessment is essential preferably in a high hazard / process industry environment
Experience in a similar role, ideally gained in a complex manufacturing facility
IOSH Managing Safely / NEBOSH Certificate

Salary: Up to £33,919 per annum
