Location - Reading / Basingstoke Area

Salary - Base salary plus contributory pension scheme, generous holiday entitlement, additional flexible benefits scheme and excellent work/life balance including 9 day working fortnight and flexible working hours (role dependent). A salary sacrifice scheme is also available. We will consider candidates looking for full time or part time hours.

The Engineering function at AWE are looking for several engineers at various stages of their careers to support facilities on site.

As a Craft Engineer at AWE you will be required to carry out a wide range of planned and reactive maintenance activities on facility and production plant and equipment which can include installations, repairs, replacement, calibration, testing, modifications. On a day to day basis you will apply and hone your trade skills, working in accordance with task instructions in a safe and effective manner to ensure plant and equipment are available as required. You will be expected to maintain current knowledge of all applicable procedures, legislation and safety measures as well as providing technical advice and guidance to customers and stakeholders.

To be considered for these roles, you must have an engineering apprenticeship with a minimum NVQ/Diploma Level 3 in a relevant technical discipline or NVQ/Diploma level 2 plus industrial experience.

You will also need:

    • Working knowledge/experience of operational craft activities including fault finding techniques and methodologies
    • Working knowledge/experience of building services, plant, equipment and processes
    • Ideally, you will have demonstrable experience relating to your specific trade discipline (C&I, Electrical, Electronic and/or Mechanical)
