Revit and BIM (Building Information Modelling) Lead

Would you like to lead, manage and develop capability in Revit & BIM for the RES (Real Estate Solutions) programmes Engineering team? We currently have a vacancy for a Revit and BIM Lead at our site in Portway - Preston.

As a Revit and BIM Lead, you will be joining a multi-disciplinary team, working within the defence sector in the UK and KSA. Involved in setting protocols, standard templates and working practices for projects, set and monitor BIM compliance.

The role is based in our Preston, Portway House Offices and will involve travel to other UK sites, with occasional overnight stays in the UK and potentially short overseas site visits, as required by the business. This is newly designed role within the business and will have two direct reports.

Your main responsibilities as a Revit and BIM Lead will involve:

Reporting to the RES Programmes Engineering Services Manager and operate under his direction

Managing a team of talented BIM / Revit & Architectural Technicians, agree roles & responsibilities, delegate tasks

Leading, managing and developing capability in Revit & BIM for the RES programmes Engineering team. Set protocols, standard templates and working practices for projects, set and monitor BIM compliance. Achieve and maintain BIM accreditation for the team

In own field of discipline, interpreting customer technical requirements and develop them into concept / developed design documents including detailed drawings using Revit and compliance with BIM Level 2

Carrying out 3D point cloud site surveys, condition surveys of existing buildings and write up survey reports

Carrying out technical review of contractor's design drawings and documents for accuracy and compliance with requirements and specification (In own field of discipline)

Working with the Project Management function on various projects to provide BIM & Revit input and support to projects as required

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential:

Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) related discipline or equivalent experience

Some previous experience in a line management role

Demonstrable post qualification experience within the construction industry in the role of BIM Manager/Coordinator, Senior Revit Operator, Architectural Technician or other similar roles

Experience in the design and specification of buildings, structures, finishes and/ or M&E Services and the ability to produce technical construction details

Proficiency in the use of Revit (desirable) and a full understanding of BIM compliance with a good level of general IT computer skills including MS Word, Excel etc.

Desirable:

Use and understanding of 3D point cloud scanning equipment and the processing of scan data

BIM Manager Qualification is highly desirable, however training can be provided for the right candidate

Salary: £45,000+ dependent on experience and skills
