Senior Operations Engineer

Would you like to be part of an exciting team supporting successful delivery of all In-Situ machining delivery? We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Operations Engineer at our site in Barrow.

As a Senior Operations Engineer, you will be supporting the IWT (Integrated Work Team) manager in the delivery of all in-situ machining within the build delivery environment, to achieve successful delivery of defined scope of work and deliver all performance targets against safety, quality, cost, schedule and people.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to develop the relevant skills required to develop into a Principle Operations Engineer and with the right leadership development an IWT manager.

Your main responsibilities as a Senior Operations Engineer will involve:

Supporting the IWT to ensure SQCDP (Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery and People) performance and effective delivery of all In-Situ Machining activities across the Astute programme

Liaising with on-site Sub-Contractor for machining

Production of appropriate department documentation/processes including the development of work packs

Liaising with Build Service, Build teams, planning, supply chain and other technical departments

Being responsible for the mitigation of delays by raising & co-ordinating service requests on appropriate databases

Walking of work areas to ensure appropriate progress is being undertaken on a daily basis

Reviewing of daily bookings and challenge where appropriate

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential:

Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills

Ability to use and interrogate databases

Competent in the use of Microsoft Packages

Desirable:

Preferred Machining or Mechanical Engineering Background

HNC in Engineering or equivalent qualification/experience

Understanding of Technical Drawings and Manufacturing Instructions

Knowledge of in-situ machining activities undertaken on astute

Experience working with on-site Sub-Contractors
