Training Solutions Engineer

Would you like to be a part of a team designing and delivering Naval Training Solutions within Maritime Services? We currently have a vacancy for a Training Solutions Engineer at our site in Broad Oak Technology Centre in Portsmouth or Filton, to develop and update training for our customers.

As a Training Solutions Engineer, you will undertake Training Needs Analysis and Instructional Design during development and support phases of the training lifecycle to agreed timescales and budget. You will also attend and/or chair meetings/workshops with industry, customer and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to capture data efficiently and accurately.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to work with a wide range of stakeholders across the BAE Systems businesses.

Your main responsibilities as a Training Solutions Engineer will involve:

Conduct Training Needs Analysis in accordance with a recognised Systems Approach to Training.

Conduct Instructional Design in accordance with a recognised Systems Approach to Training.

Undertake and support solution integration & acceptance activities.

Develop customer and stakeholder relations.

Adhere to and promote BAE Systems Governance, Configuration and Change Control processes.

Provide training related subject matter expertise to technical and engineering authorities.

Support the procurement of training media through the provision of subject matter expertise advice and guidance.

Support training planning activities through the provision of subject matter expertise advice and guidance.

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential

Have knowledge and experience of the successful application of the Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT), including the DSAT Quality Management Standard (QMS) and DSAT guidance documentation.

Have knowledge of current training methods and media, including Computer Based Training (CBT), multimedia, simulation and Virtual Reality (VR).

Have a working knowledge of Training Lifecycle Management.

Experience of working with senior level stakeholders.

Have successfully completed a Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT) Training Needs Analysis course (for example Defence Academy Course No. 47 - DSAT Training Needs Analysis) or a similar training framework course.

Desirable

Knowledge of Royal Navy surface fleet branch structures and their associated training pipelines.

Experience of training needs analysis within a UK military requirement

You will demonstrate strong communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships. You will need to be able to influence multiple stakeholders and interact confidently with senior management. Strong problem solving skills are key to the success of this role.
