Senior Engineer - Signatures

We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Engineer - Signatures at our site in Scotstoun.

As a Senior Engineer - Signatures, you will be responsible for the delivery of signatures modelling and verification tasks, delivering against the Canadian Surface Combatant design requirements.

This role will provide you with exposure to the design, build and test phases across the whole ship, whilst working on emerging technologies and providing innovative engineering solutions.

Your main responsibilities as a Senior Engineer - Signatures will involve:

  • Co-ordinating own activities, including delivery of assessment and guidance of equipment, systems, ship integration and implementation to control the platform's signatures
  • Maintaining Signatures predictions in line with the project design requirements; assisting with the mitigation of non-compliances and risks, working across project disciplines to achieve resolution
  • Ensuring that the models use an adequate representation of the ship and its environment for the signatures under examination
  • Development and integration into the platform
  • Progressive refinement of signature models and analysis as maturity of data increases

Your skills and qualifications as a Senior Engineer - Signatures:

Technical knowledge of RCS & IR modelling including RCS and IR generation mechanisms and reduction techniques

Technical knowledge of platform design and integration, with particular reference to signature reduction and control techniques

Technical knowledge of modelling techniques signatures

Experience of engineering design processes

Maintaining documentation / calculation records under configuration control

Determining areas requiring technical investigation and acting to deliver

You will be a self-motivated individual, who is keen to understand complex situations and proactively develop solutions in-line with programme requirements. You must also possess excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and build effective working relationships with various stakeholders which will allow you to collaborate with teams and educate suppliers.
