Senior Logistics and Supply Chain Manager - Air Sector - Production

Would you like to work in an exciting Senior Management role within BAE Systems Air Sector? We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Logistics and Supply Manager across our Samlesbury and Warton sites.

As a Senior Logistics and Supply Chain Manager, you will be responsible for the Senior Leadership and management of the total logistics solution, its operations, organisation, strategy and processes to ensure the planning & logistics requirements for the Air Sectors Production Programmes are delivered as required.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to play a pivotal leadership role within the Air Manufacturing Senior Management Team, working on a number of the world's largest Military Aircraft programmes, offering security and longevity and giving you the chance to be involved in the complete production lifecycle.

Your main responsibilities as a Senior Logistics and Supply Chain Manager will involve:

Being accountable for developing the strategy and organisation to effectively manage the Air Manufacturing orderbook (supply & demand), managing part supply, operational performance data and ensuring a sustainable logistics organisation

Working with key stakeholders across the end to end Production lifecycle to ensure requirements are placed accurately and on time with both internal and external suppliers

Developing relationships with all suppliers & manufacturing businesses to manage a robust and integrated logistical solution which underpins the operational performance of F-35, Typhoon, Hawk and our Shared Service obligations

Leading a Production Logistics & Supply Chain organisation at a senior level

Leading the integration between Airframe & Equipment Supply Chains and Production to ensure clarity of requirements for planning demand and managing data for supply performance into the factory

Addressing supply chain performance through return to green plans to support the build rates across the Air Production contracts

Operating a data management cell for all order book management information, planning data integrity, operations performance metrication and production value chain KPIs

Empowering direct reports to engage with the production businesses to support delivery of Production objectives (SQCDP)

Defining clear accountability to deliver the scorecard objectives and supporting the business in achieving the absence and safety targets

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential

Background within Logistics and an understanding of the ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system and all aspects of a Production lifecycle

Significant experience of working and leading teams within an operational environment

Strong business awareness and acumen with excellent communication & influencing skills

Must drive partnering behaviours across the Air Sector and broader corporate boundaries

Strong operational and governance focus

Desirable

APICS/ASCM Qualification

Supply Chain or Logistics Leadership degree

Recognition through an appropriate Professional Supply Chain body at a Chartered level i.e. CILT or equivalent
