Post Service Design Engineer

Would you like to play a key role in resolving technical issues and in service failure investigations? We currently have a vacancy for a Post Service Design Engineer at our site in Broad Oak.

As a Post Service Design Engineer you will be the technical lead for a number of deployed naval power electronics systems. You will be responsible for resolving obsolescence issues encompassing a wide range of technologies while providing engineering support to manufacturing.

This role will provide you with an opportunity to deal with internal and external customers as you will be the technical lead on power electronics systems providing technical consultancy to manufacturing.

Your main responsibilities as a Post Service Design Engineer will involve:

Technical Lead encompassing a wide range of technologies covering both traditional analogue and modern digital domains

Resolution of technical issues arising within manufacturing

Resolution of technical issues on deployed hardware

Addressing component obsolescence issues

Undertaking bid support activities

Performing failure trend analysis

Your skills and qualifications:

Essentials:

Degree in relevant subject

Proficiency in diagnosing analogue and digital equipment

Proficiency in post design servicing activities

Effective oral and written communication skills

Experienced in electrical safe working practices

Desirables:

Experience in electricity generation and control systems

Live working on electrical power systems

Power supply and control design techniques

Experience with microprocessor based systems

Chartered or working towards Chartered Engineer status
