Field Support Engineer

Would you like to play a key role in supporting the Military's Communications systems? We currently have a vacancy for a Field Support Engineer working out of MoD Donnington.

As a Field Support Engineer, you will be responsible for testing and fault identification on the full range of telecommunications equipment under the BATCIS portfolio. You will also be responsible for resolving issues where possible or returning items to the original manufacturer if repairs are not possible.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to work alongside defence partners in a challenging and rewarding environment.

Your main responsibilities as a Field Support Engineer will involve:

Receipting of incoming equipment

Performing equipment serviceability tests -

Performing equipment repairs at component level.

Recording work, effort and outcomes into JAMES (Joint Asset Management and Engineering Solutions)

Preparing equipment for return to service.

Contributing to trend analysis and KPI (Key Performance Indicator) reporting.

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential:

Experience in the maintenance of communications systems (Military systems would be a distinct advantage).

Desirable:

Previous experience in Military Communication Equipment.

Service management and Logistics IS/IT experience (including ITIL framework)

REME Telecommunications Technician or R SIGNALS Communication Systems Engineer would be advantageous.

What we're looking for in you:

You will be a proactive and diligent individual and work well within a small team. You will have strong communications skills with the ability to interact with different individuals, you will also be able to work within a team and on your own initiative when needed.

Location: MoD Donnington, please note there may be some travel involved with this role to meet business requirements.

Salary: £38,300 + Dependant on experience
