Systems Engineer

Join us and help to define the future of global maritime defence capabilities. We currently have a vacancy for a Systems Engineer at our site in Portsmouth.

As a Systems Engineer, you will be acting as a source of Systems Engineering knowledge, embedding and promoting the principles of Systems Engineering and the application of those principles. You will be managing the service configuration baseline, running impact assessments and producing detailed process maps to improve the overall service.

Your main responsibilities as a Systems Engineer will involve:

  • Maintaining service compliance to agreed customer, business and strategic requirements.
  • Modelling throughput data against contractual assumptions and performance data to inform future design decisions.
  • Producing new process maps & reviewing existing process maps to better articulate the service and identifying areas for potential improvement.
  • Scoping and organising process confirmations across the Service Design's interfaces and collating, analysing and auctioning the output
  • Working as part of the Service Performance team to analyse performance data produced to identify potential improvements to the design.
  • Working as part of the team to support the progression of identified improvements to an evidence-based conclusion.
  • Deputising for the Service Performance Manager at key meetings as delegated
  • Supporting the culture change activities required to embed a Service Provider culture and System thinking principles.

Your skills and qualifications:

  • Being comfortable with working with and analysing data
  • Process mapping knowledge
  • Requirement management
  • Requires a broad understanding of the Systems Engineering principles and approaches relevant to Service Design activities
  • Experience in utilising the Systems Engineering tools and techniques relevant to Service Design and optimisation of a support service

You will have good communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships with stakeholders. You will have the ability to understand detailed technical instructions and be able to communicate complex technical information to others.
