Quality Leader

Would you like to play a key role supplying Submarines to the UK Government? We currently have a vacancy for a Quality Leader at our site in Barrow-in-Furness.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to implement creative solutions for assurance and continual improvement and become part of a passionate leadership team, seeking to drive quality and develop potential of others in the workplace.

Your main responsibilities as a Quality Leader will involve:

Ensuring compliant arrangements for Internal Audit management and corrective action management / Assurance (ISO 9001:2015)

Maintaining and further developing a competent auditor capability

Developing and maintaining a 'relevant' business audit

Managing, and continually improving, performance of audit processes

Ensuring high quality audit outputs

Ensuring audit findings are managed in accordance with corrective action and root cause analysis processes to prevent re-occurrence of issues

Coordinating Third Party surveillance and certification visits and resulting findings

Leading and developing direct reports effectively

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential:

ISO 9001 lead auditor qualified

Knowledge of relevant standards

Experience in an audit governance role

Experience in corrective action management / root cause analysis

Leadership skills (e.g. development of others)

Desirable:

Experience in audit governance role

Leadership skills - 'people first mind set'

Experience with working with 3rd party certification bodies

Process management

Experience in delivering training and support

Experienced in quality governance you are a proactive individual with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. This will allow you to engage and influence others through your collaboration and strong leadership skills to ensure appropriate assurance of the business.

Furthermore, you are creative and a strong people leader who thrives on the development of others

Maritime - Submarines

Our Submarines business has been safely delivering world class submarines to the UK Royal Navy for more than a century.

The Astute class will equip the Royal Navy with its largest and most capable generation of attack submarines. We are responsible for the design, build, test and commissioning of these state-of-the-art vessels. In total, seven boats will make up the fleet, each weighing a mighty 7,400 tonnes.

Dreadnought is the successor to the Vanguard class of nuclear deterrent submarines. We will deliver four submarines to the Royal Navy, with the first submarine entering service in the early 2030s. Dreadnought is widely considered to be one of the world's most complex engineering challenges.
