Principal Training Needs Analyst - Human Factors

Would you like the opportunity to be part of the exciting, innovative Dreadnought Project? We are looking for a Principal Training Needs Analyst to join our team based at Filton, Bristol.

As a Principal Training Needs Analyst, you will have the potential to analyse the emerging training needs of all aspects of future submarine design. This will involve an understanding of current submarine operating and training practices, including working with several stakeholders within the Royal Navy.

This role will provide you with exposure to submarine design, operational training, liaising with the Royal Navy, and will include visits to the MOD as well as Royal Navy Establishments bases. This role will give you access to future opportunities for progression either to management or specialist consultant depending on interest and availability.

Your main responsibilities as a Principal Training Needs Analyst will involve:

Delivering training needs analysis in accordance with JSP 822

Analysing and delivering Dreadnought class training needs analysis to the Royal Navy

Assisting in the review and assessment of in service and build changes in relation to dreadnought class training

Assisting and supporting the Senior Engineering Manager in training service activities aligned to the Submarine Design Authority (SDA) key deliverables plan and support to Dreadnought class training providers

Working to a project plan agreed by future submarines (FSM) Defence Supply & Support Team (DSST)

Collaborating with Royal Navy subject matter experts to fulfil training requirements

Your skills and qualifications as a Principal Training Needs Analyst:

Essential:

Have successfully completed a Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT) Training Needs Analysis course to JSP 822 standard or a similar training framework course

Experience conducting and presenting Training Needs Analysis (TNA) to meet MoD DSAT requirements

Have a working knowledge of Training Lifecycle Management

Experience of working with senior level stakeholders

Desirable:

Knowledge of Royal Navy submarines, RN branch structures and their associated training pipelines

CIPD qualified

Experience of training needs analysis within a UK military requirement

Experience in a supervisory role

You will demonstrate strong communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships, influencing multiple stakeholders and interacting confidently with senior management. You will have the ability to generate enthusiasm within a world class engineering environment, to develop methods and challenge issues based on commercial reasoning which may involve implementing innovative as well as unique ideas.
