AWE is currently recruiting for an Environmental Test Engineers to join the Engineering Trials Delivery Unit (ETDU).
Location - Reading area

The Role
You will be responsible for the planning, building, instrumenting, implementing and reporting of environmental tests and trials ensuring all regulatory requirements are met and data provided to AWE's high-quality standards.
You will be delivering tasks requiring collaborative cross-organisational/cross functional working, including facility, delivery, analysis and trials management teams. Personal management of continued professional development of environmental test competence is a necessity to assist in enabling growth in capability capacity.
What will you need to be considered?
We'd love to hear from someone with significant experience or working within a high hazard facility, carrying out shock and vibration testing. You will have good knowledge of all environmental testing techniques including thermal, humidity, pressure, linear acceleration, vibration and drop testing as well as data collection and interpretation.
Someone with the following knowledge & experience, in the following, would be a great match:
- Health and Safety legislation
- Environmental Testing techniques and capabilities
- Data acquisition and recording systems
- Working with hazardous materials (explosive, RA, CoSHH)
- Representing teams and presenting to mid-level leadership and above
- Estimating, planning and de-conflicting complex tasks
- Representing AWE and ETDU to external customers, stakeholders and partner companies
Candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role.
