Who we are looking for:

Sellafield Ltd is recruiting a Principal OT Cybersecurity Specialist. The role will be based in West Cumbria and you will be working on some of the most leading-edge engineering challenges here in the UK.
We are interested in hearing from candidates who have a proven track record in providing expert Operational Technology (OT) Cybersecurity support to projects and programmes. 

About the role:

This leadership role will initially support the Head of Cyber Programme in the development, and implementation, of a new suite of arrangements covering Cybersecurity for Operational Technology across all phases of an asset’s lifecycle. It will require engagement at both Sellafield Ltd and 3rd party locations with senior stakeholders, both internally and externally, including regulators (ONR, HSE) and the UK National Technical Authority (NCSC), as well as new, and in-flight, projects including those being delivered through Programme, Project Partners.

Further accountabilities include:

  • Provide expert Operational Technology (OT) Cybersecurity support to projects and programmes.
  • Develop the Professional and Technical networks and future company OT Cybersecurity specialists required to deliver the site plan.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring for Sellafield Ltd. (SL) Senior Managers relating to OT Cybersecurity.

To thrive in this role you will need:

Degree (min 2:2) or equivalent in engineering or computer science

Accredited to an appropriate professional body, e.g. IET or BCS providing depth and breadth of knowledge to perform effectively in a leadership role.

GICSP qualification and accreditation

Evidence of operating in a leadership capacity on legislative, regulatory, and management system issues internally and externally.

Evidence of utilising leadership skills to influence and manage senior stakeholders, both internally and externally.

Demonstration of extensive knowledge of procedures, methods, and full underlying principles of applicant’s area of expertise i.e. specific technology or asset lifecycle

Evidence of performing at strategic level (thinking and planning) as well as tactical and operational levels.

You may also have:

Evidence of managing an operating budget effectively and participating in tender evaluations and make-or-buy decisions.
