Principal Operations Engineer

Would you like to play a key part in supporting the Build Delivery Organisation? We currently have a vacancy for a Principal Operations Engineer at our site in Barrow-in-Furness.

As a Principal Operations Engineer, you will be working directly for the Standards Compliance Team (Nuclear) within the Nuclear Consultancy function of the Nuclear Integration Directorate working on both the Astute & Dreadnought programmes.

This role will provide you with diversity and challenges as no two days are the same with surveillance activities covering all contracts at all phases of the build.

Your main responsibilities as a Principal Operations Engineer will involve:

Being a trusted and valued member of the team and being a point of contact for all NSRP related issues

Advising and supporting the operations team in delivering to quality and safety standards and right first time

Ensuring relevant standards and processes are adhered to and complied with on a day-to-day basis

Interfacing with a broad spectrum of personnel across all levels both within and out with the business

Your skills and qualifications:

5 years minimum NSRP build experience across any Operations / Quality / Test & Commissioning or Engineering background

Nuclear Reactor Systems Course (Levels 1 & 2)

IT literate especially with Microsoft packages (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)

Familiarisation of SAP, Windchill & Teamcenter

Knowledge of BMS & Risk Assessments

Understanding of Audits & Investigations

NSRP Build & Installation knowledge and experience

Effective communication skills
