Security Training and Awareness Lead

Would you like to actively contribute and lead on security awareness and training projects for BAE Systems security training programme in the development of some of the most developed defence projects globally? We currently have a vacancy for a Security Training and Awareness Lead at our site in Barrow in Furness.

As a Security Training and Awareness Lead, you will be managing the security awareness and security-training programme in order to protect BAE Systems, its people, infrastructure, information and assets, as well as the interests of its shareholders and customers, and to fulfil regulatory and legal obligations. You will be responsible for providing guidance and support to the functions on the Security Awareness and Training programme deployment, including embedding communication activities to enhance business performance.

This role will provide you with an opportunity to shape and improve, through a transformational security awareness programme the security culture of the business.

Your main responsibilities as a Security Training and Awareness Lead are as follows:

Will be responsible to build, maintain and measure the BAESS Security awareness and communication plan with a goal of influencing behaviours to improve the security culture. In doing so reduce risk by ensuring, all employees, staff and contractors, understand the security requirements.

Co-ordinate, manage and ensure that the annual security-training programme is delivered, developing the structure to ensure sustained long term delivery.

Develop and deliver security-training material to a range of communities across business functions.

Create and maintain a metric framework to measure effectiveness of the awareness and training programme.

Analyse and evaluate the effectiveness of existing processes and practices within the function in order to identify and implement opportunities for change and innovation to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of business delivery.

Develop and manage security awareness and training processes to ensure compliance with regulatory and legal obligations.

Provide advice and guidance to business functions on the interpretation and application of security policies, ensuring compliance.

Through gap analysis and research, identify areas of improvement to enhance business understanding of security policies and training requirements.

Conduct training needs analysis and offer solutions to satisfy business requirements in the most efficient and effective way.

Represent the Security Department at internal and external meetings to promote the work of the department and ensure this aligns to wider business values and objectives.

Your skills and qualifications:

Essentials:

Proven track record of exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to interpret complex messages in a simple, clear and concise manner for internal and external stakeholder communications

Strong understanding of security and security principles, gained in a corporate security management, aviation security, defence, law enforcement or military environment.

Experience of Change management, development, and implementation of new processes

An ability to work unsupervised, taking the initiative and dealing with complex situations.
