Mechanical Technician

Would you like to play a key role providing in service support to the UK and core nation Typhoon fleets? We currently have a vacancy for a Mechanical Technician at our site in RAF Lossiemouth.

As a Mechanical Technician, you will be Working in conjunction with the RAF, the role will undertake maintenance, repair and modification activities to meet the requirements of the UK Typhoon fleet, as part of the TyTAN Enterprise Service.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to work in a brand-new role in the UK, working to both RAF and BAE System governance. This will be a fast paced and dynamic role as you will be responding to delivering a service to the first line operational environment within Typhoon.

Your main responsibilities as a Mechanical Technician will involve:

Supporting the Maintenance Team Leader and Maintenance Supervisor in executing the Team output as defined by the agreed STF Maintenance Plan.

Performing a range of maintenance tasks including: strip, repair, modification and maintenance, such as removal, installation and functional test with the appropriate level of supervision, or self-supervision where authorised to do so.

Ensuring that all assigned maintenance activities are carried out in compliance with all regulatory requirements, QR640, including all associated procedures and standards, and any other applicable Company procedures and standards.

Ensuring that all maintenance tasks are conducted IAW approved data using the approved toolsets

Maintaining personal task authorisation levels and ensuring that any training requirements are identified to the Supervisory/Maintenance Team Leader.

Ensuring timely identification and provisioning of all required aircraft spares, tooling, aircraft support and test equipment, and maintenance facility requirements.

Ensuring all aircraft maintenance activities are appropriately documented and airworthiness records are accurately maintained within the Aircraft F700 documentation and relevant electronic documentation systems.

Identifying any emergent maintenance support requirements directly to Maintenance Team Leader or Aircraft Maintenance Controller.

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential:

ONC or equivalent qualification/experience in Aeronautical Engineering

Relevant work experience within the aircraft maintenance environment working at operator/technician level

Experience on Typhoon aircraft

Must have current Typhoon Q Course or Type Course

Good knowledge of Maintenance documentation (Engineering Support System (ESS) and associated toolsets)

Desirable:

Good knowledge of quality procedures, processes and specifications in relation to Military Maintenance Organisation (MMO - QR640)

You will be a proactive individual with good problem solving skills - ability use personal judgement to interrogate symptoms, approved technical data, and follow diagnostic procedures to arrive at fit-for-purpose solutions.

Salary: £28,500
