The Opportunity

Electronic Engineering has entered the next phase of its exciting evolution as a world class and dominant European missile company.  The growing workload within MBDA has created an exciting opportunity within the UK Component Engineering Component Selection team for a Team Lead.

You will be managing and coordinating the activities performed by an experienced and a highly skilful team.

  • Ability to manage and lead a team.
  • Strong technical background in electronic components. 
  • Strong communication skills to facilitate regular face to face communications with all relevant stakeholders.
  • Competence in Microsoft Excel/Access and be able to create automated tools to replace manual excel spreadsheets.
  • Excellent problem solving skills.
  • Write clear and concise engineering documentation.
  • Excellent time management skills and a strong drive to deliver to schedule.
  • Pro-activeness and self-motivation to improve process and get the job done.
  • Availability to visit teams located in Paris/UK and travel to various manufacturers / suppliers / shows around the country.

The Role 
  • Lead the Electronics Component Team ensuring we deliver a fully comprehensive component service to meet all project requirements at minimal risk and that the selected components embedded within MBDA designs have the best chance of success for the business.
  • Lead, develop and motivate assigned staff to ensure they are aware of and capable of delivering their accountabilities.
  • Carry out team planning, risk management and quality activities in assigned areas in line with all requirements and processes.
  • Undertake a full range of engineering activities in line with all relevant process, quality and other requirements, supplying specialist advice and support across projects and to other functions within the business.
  • Evaluate technical issues in order to develop proposals for investigations and/or solutions, including process improvements.
  • Act as the main point of contact with customers (internal and external) and/or suppliers and collaborators in assigned areas on engineering matters, to resolve a full range of problems and issues and to maintain an awareness in both parties of priorities and objectives.
