Asset Data & Information Management Lead

Would you like to play a key role in the implementation of the data strategy? We currently have a vacancy for a Asset Data & Information Management Lead at our site in Portsmouth, Hampshire.

Please note this is a 12 months fixed term position with the possibility of going permanent.

The Asset Data & Information Lead position is part of a larger Asset Management Capability team which is currently being created to design and manage the future enterprise architecture for the Base and Estates Intelligent Customer Group organisations. The wider team responsibilities cover the management of the processes used across the enterprise, management of the IT application architecture and functionality, the organisation design and information exploitation. The Asset Data & Information Lead is required to ensure full alignment of their own strategy with this wider team designed to provide control and deliver services to the rest of the operational business.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to be responsible for a team delivering a critical part of our transformation with personal responsibility for the management of asset data & information including graphical and non-graphical data sets and information.

Your main responsibilities as a Asset Data & Information Management Lead will involve:

Controlling the asset data architecture across Base Services in various engineering tools and IT systems

Creating a roadmap for plugging data & information gaps against defined architecture needed to meet MI & analytical output for operational benefits

Developing and maintaining the Team Portsmouth "Asset Information Data Management Strategy" which is compliant with ISO55001 and ensure its implementation throughout Portsmouth Naval Base (O&M, Project Management & Engineering)

Developing and implementing BIM (Building information modelling) and digital dockyard strategy including 3D site modelling and championing the benefits thereof

Managing asset information for Portsmouth naval base required for the compliant execution of our contract with MOD

Provision of dependable data to inform analysis and insights to identify genuine PNB estate improvement opportunities enabling increased business revenue

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential skills :

Experience of Data & Information Management including Data Analysis, Data Science, Business Intelligence and Information Management within an engineering, facilities management or construction organisation

Experience of being at the forefront of transitioning to use modern tools and techniques

Must be proficient in producing conceptual 3D Models to a high standard and in short period of time

Ability to communicate complex asset data set and architectural detail into a coherent, achievable plan, communicating this to internal and external stakeholders at all levels

Must have experience of working with different specialisms within one team and able to keep this aligned for the end goal.

Desirable skills:

Broad working knowledge of relevant Data & Information Management standards and best practice methodologies including ISO19650 as a minimum

Experience of developing and delivering against functional requirements for IT tools, preferably with a data & information management specialism

You will have the ability to manage a team while also having a flexible approach to the way you work. You will have strong communication skills both verbal and written as well as conflict resolution skills.
