Would you like to play a key part in delivering the management and leadership of preventative and corrective maintenance for HM Naval Base Portsmouth infrastructure? We currently have a vacancy for a Maintenance Lead at our site in Portsmouth Naval Base.
As a Maintenance Lead, you will be driving a proactive maintenance culture focused on continuous improvement. You will develop an understanding of the current maintenance maturity and be responsible for driving ownership of appropriate maintenance strategies in to the engineering disciplines.
With this role no two days are the same and it is a rewarding role where you will make an impact across the Naval Base Services by engaging with multiple stakeholders of varying experiences and knowledge, there will be career progression within the chief engineer's department and career opportunities across wider BAE Systems.
Your main responsibilities as a Maintenance Lead will involve:
Providing leadership and supervision on Maintenance Activities to the Chief Engineers Department, Estates Projects, Operation and Maintenance teams
Inspires, motivates and commands trust and respect from others through influence and modelling desired behaviours
Ability to interact with a wide range of stakeholders, assessing views and inputs on maintenance tasks to produce viable decisions to support the business and customer
Leading to the creation and implementation of best practice maintenance vision, strategies, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance
Analysing, reviewing and communicating the impact on maintenance activities from asset changes
Managing and taking ownership of the current planned and preventative maintenance system for HMNB Portsmouth infrastructure
Providing technical expertise, advice and support to maintenance delivery teams in all aspects of maintenance planning
Utilising problem-solving methodologies and be able to analyse multiple sources of technical and business data so that assets deliver the capabilities required by the Naval Base Asset Management Plans
Ensuring engineering maintenance specification are developed IAW Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) guidelines, and regularity standards to optimise equipment performance and product quality
Your skills and qualifications:
Degree qualified in Engineering discipline or relevant experience within a maintenance organisation
Knowledge of maintenance engineering concepts
Ability to interpret specifications and maintenance manuals
Advise on maintenance requirements for contractual work
Train and develop employees
Minimum of 5 years in a supervisory/management positions
Must have experience in a facilities management setting
Maintenance involvement in design and procurement and operation of assets desirable
