Supply Chain Senior Coordinator

Would you like to play a key role co-ordinating and delivering heavy and/or indivisible moves within the organisation in a safe, timely, efficient and effective manner whilst maintaining excellent customer relationships? We currently have a vacancy for a Supply Chain Senior Coordinator at our site in Barrow-in-Furness.

As a Supply Chain Senior Coordinator, you will be responsible for ensuring all heavy moves are planned to enable logistics to deliver on time, this contributes to satisfy the customer with their requirements.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to work within a varied role that will utilise your communication skills with various stakeholders and the chance to continue and build your career within the Supply Chain function.

Your main responsibilities as a Supply Chain Senior Coordinator will involve:

Deputising for Transport Advisory Group (TAG) meetings or toolbox talks as required.

Supporting team leader with mobilisation of suitable resource for each move

Liaising with Security, the local Police Authority and Public Authorities regarding the organisation of heavy moves

Liaising with all internal customers in particular the Production Engineering Department (PED) regarding heavy or indivisible moves

Interpreting engineering drawings in relation to load bearing and load security elements

Organising cranes and associated heavy moves equipment

Distributing 'yard notes' ensuring that all stakeholders are made aware of heavy move plans

Delivering pre-move briefs to whole team prior to commencement of move

Ensuring that all moves are organised and carried out in a safe and efficient manner with minimal disruption to day-to-day operation

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential:

Knowledge of SPMT (Self-propelled modular transporter) movements

Knowledgeable in Microsoft packages in particular Excel

Project Management tools & techniques

Desirable:

Lean principles such as Root Cause, 5 S (Japanese workplace organisation), TIMWOOD (Transport, Inventory, Movement, Waiting, Over Production, Over Processing, Defects) and Pareto Analysis

Some knowledge of SAP material management transactions

ITAR (International Traffic in Arms) qualified (training will be given but advantageous if already held)
