Would you like to join the team that develop Prognostics and Health Management software products for the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter? We currently have a vacancy for a Lead DevSecOps Software Engineer at our site in Samlesbury.

As a Lead DevSecOps Software Engineer, you will lead the implementation of US DoD aligned Agile DevSecOps practices into the delivery of F35 PHM software products. This will involve using acquired knowledge, networking, leadership and coaching to drive the Agile Agenda and migration to a compliant set of processes.

The PHM systems on aircraft, off aircraft and at the desktop, are being developed to support greater digital exploitation, leading to increasing condition-based management of the F35 fleet. The large UK team works alongside US based Teammates in developing and delivering the overall capabilities.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to apply latest software development approaches to a 5th generation fighter through life support programme.

Your main responsibilities as a DevSecOps Software Engineer will involve:

Leading the delivery of PHM products, providing direction and software decision making within a wider multidisciplinary team.

Supporting the implementation of a DevSecOps release process that is evolving alongside Engineering Governance and Agile drivers.

Coding using Java, Python and MATLAB through an Agile sprint process.

Working in a DevSecOps pipeline to deliver iterative product development in conjunction with system architects and subject matter experts.

Your skills and qualifications:

You will have a degree in a STEM subject or equivalent relevant experience.

You will have led teams of software engineers with a demonstrated track record of effective delivery of products to end users.

You will be a broadly experienced software engineer with specific experience of working in a DevOps environment with high data volumes and significant cyber security requirements.

You will be familiar with Java, Matlab & Python programming languages, Rest APIs and a range of modern database technologies, with experience of toolset design decisions in developing solutions.

You will be a competent leader and communicator able to effectively lead small teams and integrate into a wider environment.

You will be able to bring experience of end user engagements to effectively manage these critical relationships through an Agile methodology.

You will understand competing requirements and be able to provide clear reasoning to design decisions based on prioritising requirements, short term needs and longer term goals.
