Lead Engineer - Site Facilities Development

Would you like to be involved in a key Site Infrastructure project helping to manage and ensure site buildings, utilities, roads and equipment comply with all applicable statutory requirements? Following a recently won contract for Land UK, we currently have a vacancy for a Lead Engineer - Site Facilities Development at our site in Glascoed working on Next Generation Munitions Solutions.

As a Lead Engineer - Site Facilities Development, you will be responsible for managing the development, maintenance and delivery of the site, supporting the team in the development of new plant machinery, utilities and services. You will work with project managers, delivery managers, third party contractors and other stakeholders on the maintenance and improvement of the site.

This highly visible role will provide you with a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in the development of the site, working with a broad range of key senior stakeholders.

PLEASE NOTE THIS ROLE IS FOR A 12 MONTH FIXED TERM CONTRACT

Your main responsibilities as a Lead Engineer - Site Facilities Development will involve:

Managing (with a team of technical experts) the site utilities, buildings and associated equipment ensuring all works undertaken comply with all applicable company mandated policies and procedures

Co-ordinating the documentation and ongoing development of safe systems of work (work task instructions and scheduled frequencies, method statements and risk assessments)

Assisting in the Project Management with any modifications to and/or new installations of buildings and services across the site

Identifying and resolving any engineering and operational problems impacting on the performance and profitability of the business and actively participating and leading any Continuous Improvement activities as necessary

Ensuring correct selection, supervision and control of any labour (Contract or otherwise) and any resources within their area of control to ensure the site meets set Building Maintenance Service policies and legal standards

Driving supply chain for cost effective framework agreements &/or service level agreements that add value and longevity to protect the business

Supporting Procurement in selection process for suitable suppliers

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential:

Degree or equivalent qualification or experience in Engineering - Mechanical/Electrical/Civil or Building Services

Experience in Mechanical/Electrical Utilities or Civil Construction and Contractor Management (Buildings Design and Build, Building Services, Plant and Infrastructure and Equipment Engineering Maintenance)

Recognised Health & Safety Qualification e.g. NEBOSH

Recognised Environmental Qualification e.g. IEMA

Desirable:

Membership of Professional Engineering Institution

Understanding of Waste management duty of care and Hazardous Waste Regulations

Site safety management qualification (SMSTS)

Asbestos Qualifications: P405 -Management of Asbestos in buildings /P407 Managing Asbestos in Premises.

You will be self-motivated with good leadership skills, confident in prioritising your own and others' workloads.

Location: Glascoed

Salary: Up to £43,416
