Commissioning Project Leader - WTS Electrical

Would you like to work within our Submarines Business which has been safely delivering world class submarines to the UK Royal Navy for more than a century? We currently have a vacancy for a Commissioning Project Leader - WTS Electrical at our site in Barrow.

As a Commissioning Project Leader - WTS Electrical, you will be responsible for commissioning of all electrical weapons systems across all boats.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to work across multiple platforms giving you exposure to different systems and technologies. You will be given lots of training to develop further within your career.

Your main responsibilities as a Commissioning Project Leader - WTS Electrical will involve:

Leading a team of Electrical Engineers in the Weapons Test Section

Planning and supervising commissioning activities

Overseeing Electrical Rip outs for the weapons section

Reviewing and authoring test documentation in relation to the weapons test section

Reviewing and planning training and development of electrical engineers within the section

Deputising for the weapons Managers in their absence and act as temporary lead, covering all weapons section meeting

Be a signing member of the weapons test group

Liaising with other test departments to ensure safe control of work

Your skills and qualifications as a Commissioning Project Leader - WTS Electrical:

Good knowledge of either Sonar, Navigation, Command Systems or external communications Systems from either commissioning or maintaining experience
Good understanding of installations and final installation inspection process of weapons electrical systems
Ideally experience of spice, SAP or P6
Good understanding and experience of Safe Systems of Work
Experience of reviewing electrical and weapons technical documentation and drawings
Previous Team leader / Supervisory experience
Ideally have a min of HNC in an Electrical Engineering subject
