F35 UK Sustainment - Surface Finish Supervisor

Would you like to help shape the future of Surface Finish capability within the UK? We currently have a vacancy for a F35 UK Sustainment - Surface Finish Supervisor at our site in RAF Marham.

As a F35 UK Sustainment - Surface Finish Supervisor, you will be leading the delivery of the Surface Finish capability for UK Freedom of Action, for F-35 Components and in-time F-35 Aircraft.

You will be the focal point for the surface finish capability, responsible for all activities undertaken within the facility and its output to the Maintenance & Finish facility and external customers. This newly created role will provide you with a unique opportunity to support the 5th generation of stealth fighter jets and help establish and grow this capability in the UK within a purpose-built facility.

Your main responsibilities as a F35 UK Sustainment - Surface Finish Supervisor will involve:

Supporting the establishment of the component spray booth and mixing room capability

Working in partnership with the Shared Service to resource and train skilled sprayers expected to operate within the facility as described within the Surface Finish contract

Ensuring compliance of the facility in line with the Part 145 MOE (Maintenance Organisation Exposition)

Providing input to the Surface Finish facility solution design

Managing the day to day output of the Surface Finish facility

Developing management plans for service provision and capability sustainment

Working in partnership with the new business bid team to identify future opportunities and providing support to full aircraft spray capability

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential:

Apprenticeship (including a City & Guilds 2675 or 2661) or equivalent qualification or experience in Engineering/Aeronautical Engineering

Demonstrable work experience in surface finishing, specifically within the Aviation sector

Good working knowledge of support services within an Aircraft maintenance environment

The ability to deliver to tight deadlines within a high-pressured operational environment

Desirable:

Working experience of Low Observable surface coatings is highly desirable

You will have excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders. Need to show that they have communicated specifically with Stakeholders at different levels, both internally and externally.
