Electronics Engineer
Would you like to play a key role in resolving technical issues and performing in-service failure investigations for the multiple power electronics systems in our naval ships? We currently have a vacancy for an Electronics Engineer at our Broad Oak site in Portsmouth.
As an Electronics Engineer you will be the technical lead for a number of deployed naval power electronics systems. You will be responsible for resolving predominantly electronic component operational and obsolescence issues encompassing a wide range of technologies while providing engineering support to manufacturing.
This role will encompass working with internal and external customers as the technical lead on multiple power electronics systems. You will provide a technical consultancy service to our manufacturing departments and to the equipment's end users.
Your main responsibilities as an Electronics Engineer will include:
Technical Lead encompassing a wide range of electronic technologies covering both analogue and digital domains
Resolution of electronic and assembly issues arising within manufacturing
Resolution of operational issues on deployed naval electronic systems
Addressing electronic component and materials obsolescence issues
Undertaking bid support activities
Performing failure trend analysis
Your skills and qualifications:
Essentials:
Degree in relevant subject
Proficiency in diagnosing analogue and digital equipment to component level
Proficiency in post design services activities on electronic equipment
Effective oral and written communication skills
Experienced in electrical safe working practices
Desirables:
Experience in electricity generation and control systems
Live working on electrical power systems
Power supply and control design techniques
Experience with microprocessor based systems
Chartered or working towards Chartered Engineer status
