Manufacturing Governance Manager

Would you like to lead in supporting the development and maintenance of all aspects of Air Governance, Compliance and Regulations for the Manufacturing Function as part of our Air team? We currently have a Manufacturing Governance Manager vacancy at our site in Samlesbury working across various platforms.

As a Manufacturing Governance Manager you will be responsible for the team in further developing and maintaining the governance requirements and framework for across Air Manufacturing. This will require close collaboration with the other functions, operational teams, and disciplines within the Air Operations & Technology Directorate. You will represent the Manufacturing function in various Board / Senior meetings facilitating production, negotiating, recognising issues and identifying solutions while influencing and developing processes that satisfy the manufacturing processes and needs.

You will work with Senior stakeholders and Heads of Businesses across the air sector in this very broad role as every day is different in this challenging role that continues to develop and evolve

Your main responsibilities as a Manufacturing Governance manager are as follows:

Listed below are some of the typical activities undertaken, however this is not intended to be a fully comprehensive list:

  • Lead the governance team in the development and maintenance of the Manufacturing Governance Framework and associated documentation
  • To provide strategic direction to the organisation for compliance to the Regulation and ensure this is embedded into any organisation policies and procedures, as appropriate.
  • To ensure the management of exposition, handbooks and associated procedures to meet Regulatory and corporate requirements.
  • Act as focal point for Manufacturing whilst working with other functions as part of Transformation activities. (e.g. Export Control, Product Safety, Product Environment, Product Security)
  • To act as the principal point of contact with the Regulator
  • Leading the Compliance & Assurance activities linked with Manufacturing Governance
  • Working with all Air Manufacturing Lines of Business, with the opportunity to liaise with Production teams in UK, KSA and Australia.
  • Strategic development and maintenance of Delegation of Authority and Manufacturing Assurance Statement activities
  • Report packs - Lead the creation of reporting packs, including a review of data, co-ordinating with Manufacturing disciplines and attendance at business reviews.
  • Lead Functional Governance reviews and to report or assist with specific Manufacturing issues

Your skills and knowledge:

A good understanding of Governance, Assurance and Compliance activities

Good working knowledge of Product Safety

Fully understands the concepts and principles of the MAA Regulations

Requires a depth of knowledge relating to BAE Systems business processes and manufacturing needs

Excellent MS Office Word, Powerpoint and Excel skills

Good communication skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

You will also have strong organisational skills allowing you to manage challenging and conflicting priorities. The ability to motivate, influence and manage people effectively as well as develop and maintain strong stakeholder relationships are also key to this role.

Salary: £52,400+
