SHE Advisor

Would you like to play a key role within the Naval Ships programmes such as Type 26 and the Hunter Class Frigate? We currently have a vacancy for a SHE (Safety, Health & Environment) Advisor at our site in Govan.

As a SHE Advisor, you will be tasked with ensuring the health, safety and wellbeing of people and the products and services delivered within Naval Ships, we are committed to the highest standards of safety health and environmental management as we drive to continually improve our SHE awareness and performance and you will be part of the driving force behind this.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to join a dynamic team working in a high-risk environment where every day is different, whilst delivering SHE support and advice across the business.

Your main responsibilities as a SHE Advisor will involve:

Supporting the development of the SHE (Safety, Health & Environmental) Management systems by the effective implementation of processes and procedures

Providing management information as appropriate for both internal and external use

Providing information, education, training, support and guidance to the business in order to improve SHE Performance

Providing practical advice and guidance to the organisation on the development and maintenance of safe systems of work

Supporting the delivery of the Safety Maturity Model across the business

Supporting the delivery of company training packages as required

Support and where appropriate carry out accident, incident investigations

Displaying a visible active commitment to SHE - leading by example, acting on SHE concerns

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential:

Previous experience in delivering SHE services within an industrial, manufacturing or complex engineering environment

Experience in carrying out accident and incident investigations

Knowledge/experience of using appropriate investigation tools and techniques in order to identify root cause and support the implementation of improvement outcomes

Demonstratable proficiency in understanding policies, legislation, industry standards and best practices

Demonstratable proficiency in the preparation and presentation of reports on a wide range of SHE related topics

Desirable:

IOSH membership held

You will be proactive with excellent communication skills, both written and verbally, this will allow you to demonstrate your stakeholder influencing and management skills, both through team working and liaising with customers.

This will allow you to showcase your drive and commitment alongside your flexibility. Also, you will be able to analyse and interpret the relevant data and information in order to present findings.
