Quality Inspector

Would you like to work with cutting edge products that play a key role in Radar Technology? We currently have a vacancy for a Quality Inspector at our site in Cowes, Isle of Wight.


As a Quality Inspector, you will be part of an experienced team responsible for the quality control and verification of product and processes within a technological manufacturing environment.


Radar is an exciting and unique engineering field, with increasingly sophisticated electronics and materials. This role will provide you with the chance to develop your skills, with the potential for career progression opportunities in the future.


This role will involve a mixture of hands-on physical inspection, as well as administrative tasks in relation to appropriate record keeping.


Your main responsibilities as a Quality Inspector will involve:


Undertaking routine QC Inspection activities without immediate supervision


Supporting customer acceptances as required

Supporting internal and external audits as required


Applying local Management System policies, procedures and processes


Liaising/interfacing with appropriate areas of the business as required, independently


Using technical knowledge to determine product compliance


Interpreting technical data (drawings/specifications) to inform decisions


Your skills and qualifications as a Quality Inspector:


Essential:

Detailed knowledge in all aspects of QC Inspection


Knowledge of Electromechanical principles and associated manufacturing processes


Detailed knowledge of ISO9001 and or AS9100D standards


Detailed understanding of own discipline within Quality and a good understanding of other disciplines


IT skills including use of Microsoft Office

Desirable:

HNC/equivalent qualification or experience in Electrical Mechanical Engineering


Understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC)


Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and (CI) Continuous Improvement principles


Understanding of manufacturing standards such as ANSI J/IPC or similar


Previous experience as a Quality Control (Inspection Technician)


Experience using SAP/ERP systems

You will have excellent communication skills, will be confident interacting with a broad range of stakeholders and able to work independently as well as flexibly within a multi-disciplinary team.
