Manufacturing Assembly Technician

Would you like to work with cutting edge products in Radar Technology? We currently have a vacancy for a Manufacturing Assembly Technician at our site in Cowes, Isle of Wight.

As a Manufacturing Assembly Technician, you will be part of an experienced team responsible for the Manufacturer, Repair or Modification of Units and Products in a technological manufacturing environment whilst also supporting Design Engineering in Future Product Development.

Your main responsibilities as a Manufacturing Assembly Technician will involve:

Assembly, Repair and Modification of products from Line Replaceable Units through to Radar systems

Using business systems and processes to record and evidence compliance

Assisting and supporting development of other personnel

Having a detailed understanding of an assembly discipline such as wiring, fitting, PCB assembly, Microelectronics processing or similar

Performing complex assembly/disassembly or modification tasks on electronic or mechanical components, subassemblies and systems - encompassing new build, repairs products or prototype products

Providing technical support to Engineers working in design/development environment

Understanding and comply with all relevant Business Management System (BMS) procedures

Perm tasks using Mobile Equipment Working Platform's - Scissor & Mobile Boom

Understanding and complying with business SHE policies

Adhering to Lean Principles and be able to identify and initiate Continuous Improvement opportunities

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential:

Formally qualified in appropriate mechanical assembly Workmanship Standards, have completed a relevant apprenticeship or have proven relevant experience

Awareness and working understanding of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & OHSAS 18001

Be able to perform complex assembly, disassembly or modification of mechanical subassemblies and Radar systems

Work to close tolerances accurately with attention to detail to ensure consistent quality is maintained

Prototyping capability utilising limited data and documentation to support 1st off build and able to provide clear and accurate feedback for product, process development

Desirable:

Experience and or certificated in Mobile Equipment Working Platforms - Scissor & Mobile Boom or desire to learn

Experience and or certificated in operation of overhead gantry, pillar cranes & Fork Lift (Counter balance)

Whilst the primary role is mechanical, experience in electrical workshop practices and techniques is desirable
