About the role
You will work on exciting and highly complex programmes specialising in microelectronic products designed for use in harsh environments across the space, defence, aerospace and energy sectors.
Your role will be to provide microelectronic circuit design, layout and material expertise for customer owned, customer funded and internal R&D products.
Main responsibilities include:
- Design and develop both PCBA and thick film hybrid circuit layouts
- Generate full drawing packs and associated manufacturing documents to support the above
- Update drawings and associated manufacturing document packs
- Liaise with Customers and Design Partners to ensure designs meet performance requirements
- Be the Engineering Lead for specific products and projects
- Actively improve or optimise aspects of design, function or processing of existing key products
About you
You will ideally be educated to degree level (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering/electronics subject. You will have proven experience in electronics design including circuit layout and materials knowledge. You should have good knowledge and understanding of PCBA techniques, thick film hybrid technologies, electronic test methodologies and industry quality standards, as well as a good working knowledge of Pantheon / Eagle / AutoCAD / Solidworks / Cam350 / GC Powerplace. Excellent diagnostic and problem solving capability as well as an ability to deal with ambiguity and cope with new and changing demands are also key attributes required.
