Senior Warfare Analyst

Wonder what the future of Naval Warfare and operations might look like? We currently have an exciting opportunity as part of the Naval Ships Combat Systems team, for a Senior Warfare Analyst at our Frimley or Portsmouth sites.

As a Senior Warfare Analyst, you will be working collaboratively with a range of key senior stakeholders to help identify, create and visualise new concepts and ideas, shape new and existing products and services, and stimulate new thinking in order to deliver battle-winning capability.

This role presents an opportunity to play a key role in helping influence and define the Combat Systems future business strategy.

Your main responsibilities as a Senior Warfare Analyst will involve:

Providing subject matter expertise to key projects and campaigns

Undertaking market and trend analysis with specific focus on the Maritime domain

Developing military and/or civil operational scenarios and vignettes

Assessing system capabilities

Establishing customer requirements, both within the UK and with key export countries

Developing and trialling System Concepts of Operations (CONOPS)

Conducting Trade-off studies / demonstrations to evolve solution concept designs

Capturing Maritime Operational Analysis using frameworks such as MODAF / DoDAF / TOGAF enterprise frameworks

Conducting system analysis across multi domains (Land, Air, Sea, Space and Cyber)

Your skills and qualifications as a Senior Warfare Analyst:

Essential:

Operational knowledge of military doctrine in particular relating to the Royal Navy, from operational planning, threat detection, targeting approval processes, system concepts of Employment and Use, and Effect Evaluation assessment

Understanding of UK MOD Defence Lines of Development e.g. TEPIDOIL

Experience of working within Joint Force Command / Strategic Command/Maritime Warfare Centre creating battle-winning tactics for the Royal Navy

Knowledge of multi domain operations of Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (ISR) sources, fusion and Common Operating Picture (COP) concepts and integration processes

Experience of working within Joint Force Command, Strategic Command or The Maritime Warfare Centre creating battle-winning tactics for the Royal Navy as either, a civilian or uniformed member of staff (Warrant Officer or Commission Rank)

Desirable:

Knowledge of Combat Systems, in particular knowledge of the operational interaction of individual system components
