Mechanical Team Leader

Would you like to take a pro-active approach to leading a diverse team? We currently have a vacancy for a Mechanical Team Leader at our site in Portsmouth.

As a Mechanical Team Leader, you will be responsible for leading, coaching and managing a multi skilled diverse team with the objective to deliver our products and services safely, to time, cost and quality. You will be proactive, agile and be able to absorb and assess multiple sources of information to establish solutions to production problems to ensure agreed deliverables are achieved

This role will provide you with a chance to work within a diverse area of the business, every day is different. It's challenging but rewarding. You will have the opportunity to work cross functions.

Your main responsibilities as a Mechanical Team Leader will involve:

Managing various tasks and teams in an afloat environment

Safely managing a team

Working to time scales and budgets

Reducing cost implementing savings

Developing team members

Delivering a quality product first time

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential:

You should have strong experience in Mechanical Engineering (Ship building/ship repair)

Provide knowledge, experience and technical support to team as required to enable resolution to problems that will be encountered during delivery phases

Demonstrate high levels of SHE behaviours to teams through positive promotion of safety awareness, risk management and compliance

Lead a continuously improving culture within teams of responsibility that will provide year on year benefit

Ability to run complex mini projects whilst effectively deploying resources, demonstrating numerical, analytical and time management skills.

Must be willing to travel abroad

Desirable:

Strong technical abilities in an Operations discipline

Use technical and business expertise to establish solutions to production challenges that will enable reliable delivery performance

Knowledge of computer software systems such as SAP
