Would you like to be a part of a team designing Naval Training Solutions within Maritime Services? We currently have a vacancy for a Training Designer at our site in Broad Oak, Portsmouth to develop and update training for our customers.

As a Training Designer, you will undertake Instructional Design during development and support phases of the training lifecycle within agreed timescales and budget, to an acknowledged Systems Approach to Training. This will involve taking the Training Analysis output and designing instructional course material for various equipment using a variety of training media.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to work with a range of blended training solutions, liaising with a wide range of stakeholders across the BAE Systems businesses.

Your main responsibilities as a Training Designer will involve:

Conducting Instructional Design in accordance with the UK MoD's Defence Systems Approach to Training and the associated Quality Management Standard (QMS)

Supporting training solution integration & acceptance activities

Adhering to BAE Systems Governance, Configuration and Change Control processes

Providing training related advice on Instructional Design to Technical and Engineering authorities

Providing advice and guidance to support the procurement of training media

Developing Computer Aided Computer Based Training (CBT)

Your skills and qualifications as a Training Designer:

Essential:

Have successfully completed a Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT) Instructional Design course (preferably Defence Academy Course No. 98 - DSAT Detailed Design and Development) or a similar training framework course

Have a working knowledge of Training Lifecycle Management

Experience of technical/ equipment based structural Design

Have knowledge of current learning and development methodologies and training methods and media including Computer Based Training (CBT)

Desirable:

Experience of Instructional Design within the Royal Navy Training System would be advantageous

Knowledge of Royal Navy branch structures (Surface, Sub-Surface, Fleet Air Arm and Royal Marines) and their associated training pipelines

You will demonstrate strong communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships. You will need to be able to influence multiple stakeholders and interact confidently with senior management. Strong problem-solving skills are key to the success of this role.
