Would you like to be involved in the design and delivery of Naval Training Solutions for one of the most complex and important engineering programmes in the world today? We currently have a vacancy for a Training Technical Authority to work on the Dreadnought programme at our site in Broad Oak, Portsmouth.

As a Training Technical Authority - Dreadnought, you will be responsible for Training Needs Analysis (TNA), for the Dreadnought submarine covering all aspects of the Analysis for all crew-based training requirements.

This highly visible role will provide you with the opportunity to work with a wide range of stakeholders across the BAE Systems businesses and with key external partners.

Your main responsibilities as a Training Technical Authority - Dreadnought will involve:

Providing Dreadnought Training technical leadership, becoming the technical custodian and champion, tailoring JSP 822 for individual training and the development and implementing the Dreadnought Collective Training Methodology

Leading on the application of Lifecycle Management (LCM) Governance / Design Reviews on behalf of the project and leading for training in respect of whole platform reviews

Lead the development, production and presentation of the recommended training solutions for each duty analysis conducted

Acting as the Company Technical Representative in respect of training related activities, both on site and off site

Reporting to the Head of Training at the Dreadnought TSG and participate in the regular working groups

Providing a point of contact for MoD enquiries, authorised to issue formal technical advice and responses for the company

Approving and authorising TNA documentation within the scope of the work packages

Your skills and qualifications as a Training Technical Authority - Dreadnought:


Have successfully completed a Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT) Training Needs Analysis course (for example Defence Academy Course No. 47 - DSAT Training Needs Analysis) or a similar training framework course

Recognised as an expert in the broad discipline of Customer Training with knowledge of the complete Training Lifecycle and experience of operating across all phases with the Engineering Lifecycle

Knowledge and experience in the application of Lifecycle Management and Bid processes and procedures

Experience as Phase and/or Design Review Assessor


Knowledge, experience and understanding of working in the Maritime Training domain

Experience in the procurement of naval platform training solutions

Ability to work across commercial, functional, company and security domains, whilst remaining compliant with the constraints of each

You will demonstrate strong communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships, influencing multiple stakeholders, interacting confidently with senior management and supporting and developing/coaching members of the team. You will be able to understand and present complicated technical issues and strong problem-solving skills are key to help resolve complex training and engineering integration problems and issues.
