The Opportunity

An exciting new opportunity has arisen within ISP for a Procurement Manager, responsible for developing, implementing and driving operational effectiveness and efficiency throughout the procurement function and broader business. 
The ISP organisation is responsible for procuring and managing the supply chain for direct and indirect products and services for both projects and the business. Total spend is approximately €500M per year across UK, France and Italy.
 
What are we looking for?
  • HND in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering and or Business Studies or applicable experience desired
  • Commercial acumen, CIPS qualified desired.
  • Excellent team leadership, collaboration, building and communication skills, both written and verbal                                       (Adaptation)
  • Proactive approach / self-starter   (Lead)
  • Excellent negotiation/influencing skills (Lead)
  • Good knowledge of cost make-up and pricing   (Lead)
  • Knowledge and experience of SAP desired (preferably Materials Management)
  • Ability to operate within a European cultural framework
  • French/Italian language skills would be an advantage but not essential
  • Understanding of Product Assurance / Supply Chain Assurance (continuous improvement philosophy)  
  • Project Management skills     
  • Risk Management skills  
  • People Management and development

The Role

Accountable for the leadership and management of the ISP-S UK Operational Buyer & Procurement Services, consisting of a team of 7 direct reports, in order to:
  • Create a clear vision for the Operational Procurement Team, providing direction and functional support
  • Be the single owner of all ISP-S Operational Procurement and as such dealing with multiple levels of stakeholders, including Heads Of, senior programme, manufacturing and technical personnel.
  • Deliver strategic change through best practice and functional excellence
  • Driving the delivery of key Supply Chain objectives, with particular focus on innovative procurement efficiencies to achieve long term savings and lead time reduction
  • Responsible for the production and reporting of Procurement KPIs, identifying, monitoring and delivering of specific procurement opportunities.  This will involve briefing within the Procurement Team, broader ISP Team, Senior Management and above. 
  • Promote good internal Procurement practices across MBDA with the aim of eliminating rogue purchases
  • Deputy for the Procurement Manager and as such dealing with senior programme and Heads of for all ISP-S Procurement activity
