Role - Senior Production Planner - Production

Location - Reading/Basingstoke Area

Salary - £40,900 - £64,600

Package - Competitive salary plus contributory pension scheme, generous holiday entitlement, additional benefits and an excellent work / life balance including a 9-day working fortnight and flexible working hours (role dependent). A salary sacrifice scheme is also available. We will consider candidates looking for full time or part time hours.

Job Purpose:

Production Planning services supports the timely delivery of work by the Operational Delivery Units. This role is an overarching role as a Senior Production Planner, working centrally, covering multiple areas of the business; ensuring effective production planning by integrating and improving planning processes across AWE with a particular focus on systems, master data and data integrity.

You will be working with PLM, MRP, and other company systems, using business intelligence tools to help drive planning and operational inefficiencies. You will become a key driver of operational improvements using data derived insights.

This role will require you too:

* Support and improve operational planning processes; ensuring that work is effectively and efficiently planned - across AWE Operations

* Use your planning and data analysis skills to provide insight into the quality of master data, and how to improve it, and work well and help others use MES, RCCP and BI tools

Be a 'go to' person for operational planning expertise, and software tool use.

* Additional accountabilities for this job profile may be defined and appointed through the Chief Engineer Management Arrangements, with appointees listed within the Company Design Authorities and Technical Authorities, as held in the company management system.

* Maintain and promote high personal standards in environment, safety, health, security and quality and to be a great team player.

* Leading, coaching and developing a team of production planners.

Key Responsibilities:

* Risks, Issues and Change - To objectively identify and analyse the impact of risks, changes and opportunities that can affect the delivery schedule, escalate risks and issues in a timely manner.

* Ensures that performance metrics, procedures, processes and systems are developed, implemented and of a quality that delivers against our Programme requirements.

* Liaises with other functions for clarification and coordination of balanced and de-conflicted production demands and plans.

* Ensures appropriate governance of planning procedures to ensure full compliance.

* Coach, train and mentor peers and new members of the planning team to build team capability and resilience.

* Support individual performance and succession planning including internal/external recruitment.

* Develop and lead Visual Management board meetings ensuring all actions are being addressed.

* Understands the needs of internal and external customers and works with them to ensure delivery timelines.

* Work as part of the Tech Centre Management team to deliver production targets.

* Demonstrate behaviours and values that contribute to a high performing team.

* Promote and sponsor operational excellence and drive all actions aimed at continuous process improvement.

* Works effectively with others and building required relationships and interfaces to support delivery of the Programme.

* Provide a diverse and inclusive working environment that allows individuals to flourish and realise their potential.

* Work with others to form high performing teams.

* Adopt a 'See It, Own It, Solve It' mind-set, by identifying obstacles to success and taking ownership to find solutions to those problems.

* Responsible for undertaking other duties as reasonably required from time to time by line and task management, including work at other places within the UK or overseas; this will be done in consultation with you, and in accordance with any requirements contained in your Contract of Employment.
