Senior Engineering Manager - Deputy PAG Chairperson

We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Engineering Manager - Deputy PAG Chairperson at our site in Barrow.

As a Senior Engineering Manager - Deputy PAG Chairperson, you will be working within the Engineering Product Assurance area, which gives the necessary independence from project programme and finance to deliver high integrity governance to the reactor plant build activities.

This role will provide you with you with the opportunity to gain mandatory qualifications (in house) related to Nuclear Safety and Safety & Supervisory courses, which are imperative to the integrity of the product & people.

Your main responsibilities as a Senior Engineering Manager - Deputy PAG Chairperson will involve:

Chairing the Procedure Authorisation Group and holding professional accountability to the Design Authority for ensuring the adequacy, quality, safety and assurance of design intent, of the procedure and the operation of the Procedure Authorisation Group

Approving Procedure Authorisation Group membership and ensuring that all nominated approved representatives are suitably qualified and experienced (SQEP) in accordance with our own organisation arrangements

Ensuring an adequate cross-section of expertise and SQEP at each meeting and that the corporate experience of the members present is appropriate to the business in hand, such that all facets of the nuclear activities can be considered and sound advice given

Complying with the safety case in accordance with Administration Control Documents

Retaining relevant records in accordance with Licence Condition/ Authorisation Condition 6, defined in Record Schedules NRSD/GR06-011 (including LC/AC 7, 19, 24)

Your skills and qualifications as a Senior Engineering Manager - Deputy PAG Chairperson:

  • Relevant Nuclear background
  • Awareness of safety case architecture, tools and techniques
  • Expert knowledge of relevant systems (NNPP/NRP/NSRP) structures, systems and components: build processes and information sources
  • Chartered Engineer in a relevant discipline is desirable

You will be self-motivated and level headed with the ability to pay close attention to detail. You will be able to work alone and within teams, challenging information where appropriate. Your presentation and communication skills will be excellent, as will your problem-solving skills.
