Senior Engineer - Engineering Function (People Capability)

Would you like to work in a role which with provide you with a holistic look into the Engineering function, the largest department within the Submarines business. We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Engineer - Engineering Function (People Capability) at our site in Barrow.

As a Senior Engineer - Engineering Function (People Capability), you will be dealing with senior stakeholders, planning and delivering against the function's capability, planning and reviewing strategies against the current and future workforce, identifying critical and niche areas and planning accordingly.

This role will provide you with a look at Engineering from the inside out, the role has a high level of exposure across Senior Management and as such will be required to provide accurate and succinct reports.

Your main responsibilities as a Senior Engineer - Engineering Function (People Capability) will involve:

Leading activities focusing on Talent Management within the function, in liaison with Domain Leads and line managers

Supporting Line Managers to develop action plans for high potential candidates and succession planning within the function and to drive improvement in how the function performs these tasks

Assisting with capture and analysis of skills and competency's management processes within the function

Supporting resourcing processes and recruitment activities where required by the function

Carrying out analysis of resourcing manpower data to understand demand for disciplines and domains in Engineering

Attending regular meetings with discipline and domain leads to determine effectiveness of people capability within their areas

Assisting Project Leaders with NSQEP and Nuclear Baseline maintenance activities

Maintaining and assisting in creating training delivery Statement of Requirements for Engineering, including production of tracking metrics throughout the year

Your skills and qualifications as a Senior Engineer - Engineering Function (People Capability):

Degree, HNC within Engineering related subject or equivalent

Previous experience of a functional, capability or training role

Broad Engineering experience and knowledge

Experience of dealing with a wide range of stakeholders

Experience of range of reporting processes and comfortable with advanced Excel applications (pivot tables etc)
