Training System Support Centre Manager

Would you like to be part of our US Programmes within the Air Sector of BAE Systems, which is responsible for a range of activities on the F-35 Lightning II programme, the largest defence contract in the world? We currently have a vacancy for a Training System Support Centre Manager at our site in RAF Marham.

As a Training System Support Centre Manager, you will be responsible for all aspects of contracted Training System Support, directing activity associated with design, development and implementation of UK sovereign products within the Integrated Training Centre.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to work on a highly classified 5th generation platform and develop training capability for unique technologies andscarce skills e.g. low observables, Autonomic Logistics, simulator database generation and you will develop expertise in the latest training development toolsets including Learning Content Management Systems and Database Generation systems.

Your main responsibilities as a Training System Support Centre Manager will involve:

Planning, developing and implementing a strategy for Lightning training development, establishing and maintaining appropriate systems for measuring achievement against the plan.

Managing the performance of the Training System Support Centre (TSSC) team to deliver to time, cost and quality

Monitoring and reporting on the overall training system configuration in ITC and identifying the overall service safety condition

Liaising with the UK military customer and industry design authority to understand all necessary aspects of training development for Lightning, and acquiring the relevant programme data to support the process.

Developing proposals for training development, identifying cost savings and performance improvements and manage the associated engineering approval process

Provide governance authority and ensure training design documentation and deliverables comply with UK MoD, Lightning programme and BAE Systems regulations

Manage and develop direct reporting staff and control departmental expenditure within agreed budgets

Maintaining awareness and knowledge of contemporary Training Systems, development theory and methods; provide suitable interpretation to directors, managers and staff within the organization

Ensuring activities meet and integrate with BAE Systems requirements for quality management, health and safety, legal stipulations, environmental policies and general duty of care

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential Skills:

Either a Degree, HNC, or HND in an Engineering discipline

Proven work experience with Training Systems Design within either a civil aviation or fastjet capacity

Proven work experience of being in a Senior position, within a large training operation

Proven experience of delivering the relevant governance needed for a large training operation

Proven experience of managing internal and external stakeholders within a fast-paced environment, this should include briefing senior leaders

Proven knowledge of application of product safety processes

Demonstrable experience of using any elected Training Design toolsets and/or methodologies and the use of Microsoft Office tools such as Word, PowerPoint, and Excel etc

Desirable Skills:

Work experience with the Lightning II

Competent in the use of Learning Content Management Systems (LCMS) and Learning Management Systems (LMS)
